The WOO WOO overload.

Another week. Cruising to work every day, back and forth, back and forth. Spotify playlist titled “I’m Feeling Really Weird” soundtracking my commute. It’s safe to say I felt stuck.
Have you ever felt that way? The sky starts to look blurry in an ominous sort of way. The birds chirping outside suddenly seem like they are trying to tell you something. You start to look too deeply into the signs…
One day scrolling through Pinterest I came across a post titled ANGEL NUMBERS. Which detailed all the potential signs you may come across throughout your day in the form of numerology.
111: Trust your gut.
222: You are in the right place at the right time
333: Your spiritual guides are here, you are surrounded by love and support.
444: You’re being protected.
555: Good news is coming.
666: It’s time to refocus.
777: Good luck.
888: Everything is falling into place
999: Let go.
I started to notice these subtle hints from the universe, to recenter, to let go, to anticipate good news! I made sure to “surrender” to the full moon, putting out water to absorb its spiritual healing properties. While searching for jobs, I would doodle in my notebooks in increments of 3, 6, and 9, a form of manifestation thought to bring you good fortune. I followed astrology and got big books about compatibility and relationships, predictions based on star signs, and birth dates. I took every enneagram and personality test possible.
This kept me occupied before bed, sure. But when it wasn’t working, I started to be…confused? Am I doing something wrong? Should I practice at a different time? Is there a more spiritual hour to manifest?
The letdown of these practices failing hit me harder than the news I didn’t receive the job offer.

I tried all the tricks, smiling in the mirror, tell yourself you’re happy, to think positive, to think skinny, to think rich. Fake it till you make it! The optimism to delusion pipeline was becoming my reality.
Perhaps prepping for the interview seemed a little less necessary when you have the stars on your side, so you sleep in just a bit longer than usual. Low Effort – High Reward, what could go wrong?
On social media, we often see different forms of spirituality trending like fashion. The difference is the endless feedback loop of Instagram and TikTok’s “Manifesting Movement” can actually be taking you away from the things that can help you achieve your goals. . It’s important to understand the balance between spirituality and genuine perseverance.
There can be truth in all of these practices and connecting to something you believe in is a powerful tool all in itself.
BUT REMIND YOURSELF: Progress is achieved through work.

If it’s yoga every Tuesday, meditating over a cup of tea in the mornings, or simply praying every night, a routine all your own is self-care in itself. However, along with your self-care, remember to also include action-driven steps.
For me, eliminating the “let it go” attitude has helped me see positive outcomes in my personal life. Instead of being upset my goals weren’t floating back to me after I “let them free”, I decided to attack the problems I wanted to solve, all the while being thankful for every step of the way.
For example: If your goal is to get a new job, journaling about your personal passions can help you decide what will make a good fit. IN ADDITION to journaling, challenge yourself to re-do your resume, connect with 5 new people on LinkedIn, and reach out to old colleagues for career advice. Combing a positive mentality with action steps just might be the right combo to help you get to that place you want to be.
MY “ROUTINE”:
My “Meditation”: 5 MINS EVERY DAY TO SIT WITH MY THOUGHT.
My “Prayer”: Bless those around me, give thanks for all I have, and pray that better things come my way.
My Plan: Go after goals with full force. Persist. Stay Authentic.
Just like everything else, research the information you are so intensely ingesting. Try not to overwhelm yourself by hopping on every single trend (even if it’s geared toward helping you.)
Try on a new routine like you would a t-shirt in a store, it may look good on the mannequin, but it’s only worth something if it fits YOU.
